7 Practices that Sabotage Your Safety Program

Here’s a great infographic created by Aubrey Daniels International that shows 7 common practices that can be detrimental to your company’s Safety and Health program.

The one that sticks out to me the most is the Motivational Signs vs. Motivational consequences.

I’d have to say that one of the most significant factors in a company’s safety performance is whether or not employees are held accountable; not just hourly workers, but managers and supervisors as well.  More importantly, the accountability should be demonstrated with real consequences, otherwise it’s meaningless.  So I definitely agree with the graphic about actions speaking louder than words.
